Leading and Managing for High Performance programme for Emerging Leaders

The structure and content of this programme is based on the premise that through providing opportunities for participants to identify and realise their potential they in turn will nurture the development of other leaders and managers. The programme was developed to help NHS staff (clinicians, non-medical clinicians and managers) with team management responsibilities to:

  • Overcome barriers to high performance and to achieve their potential.
  • Create a culture which enables NHS staff to flourish and deliver quality.
  • Strive for high performance in both themselves and their teams and focus on increasing productivity and quality.
  • Gain bi-cultural and inter-professional understanding.

NHS London’s approach to talent under the banner of ‘Leading for Health’ focuses on the development of a pipeline of talent for Chief Executive, Directors/Aspiring Directors and Change leaders, as well as improved Clinical leadership and representation across the senior leadership from the BAME population.  This top down approach has been taken to create increased capacity, capability and diversity at the most influential levels at NHS London. The tools used include a:

  • Performance and Potential Form, producing a
  • Nine box grid, which assists
  • Succession planning
