NHS Leadership Academy pledges support to get more women doctors in driving seat
Just as David Cameron was this week calling for action to increase the numbers of women in the UK boardroom this week, the NHS Leadership Academy was pledging to tackle the underrepresentation of women doctors in leadership roles.
Promoting inclusive leadership
As part of the NHS Leadership Academy’s work to promote equality, Raj Gill, Regional Lead, gave an informative presentation on how BME staff can develop their careers into leadership roles at a recent event hosted by Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
‘Ubuntu’ in the NHS – how an ancient African philosophy is set to improve conflict resolution in the NHS
Black and minority ethnic (BME) staff and other underrepresented groups working in the NHS will have the opportunity to enhance their conflict resolution skills thanks to a new programme launched by the NHS Leadership Academy.
National Leadership Academy
As with all the other structural changes to the NHS the landscape for national delivery and hosting of leadership activity is also changing. The intention, announced by Secretary of State back in June, is to bring together all our existing national leadership programme work, along with a new range of commissions and activities and provide through a newly established NHS Leadership Academy a single, comprehensive home for leadership.

The EDS is now available to the NHS, with Early Adopters testing the system.
